To receive a 100 percent refund, a student must withdraw from their classes prior to the first day of the semester. A 75 percent refund will be made if the student officially withdraws from classes during the period starting from the first day of the semester and ending on the 10 percent day of the academic session. (Please check the college calendar for the 75 percent date). No refunds are given after the 10 percent portion of the semester.
A student is not officially withdrawn from classes until they process a formal withdrawal form with the Admissions and Records Office. The effective date of the withdrawal is the day the Admissions and Records Office receives the form.
Student refund checks are typically issued four to six weeks after the start of the semester. If a student paid with a credit card, their refund will be processed back to that same credit card. Students who paid with cash, check, or money order will be mailed a refund check.
Students enrolled in the NelNet payment plan and eligible for a refund will receive a paper refund check in the mail from CFCC.
